You may have heard the saying mind to muscle connection but what does that mean when it comes to your workout?
I like to break it down like this; My workout is a practice of a skill or mastering a skill. With that mindset I am being intentional with my movements and the purpose of the exercise. I am intentionally thinking about my form and the muscles that I want to fatigue (work).
Some of us aren't as body aware as we think we are and it may take practicing an exercise over many sessions with intention and proper form to fully understand what a muscle at work feels like. But keep at it, it will come.
The foundation of your workout should be mindset.
Be intentional.
Be present.
