More is not better, period.

There is some sort of misconception that you need to do long workouts 5-6 days a week in order for it to be beneficial or to see progress.

Not so. And in fact most people should do a lot less. The key to progress is to be consistent. Your best bet is to figure out a workout schedule that fits into your like seamlessly rather than rearranging your life to fit in working out. Planning for 3-4 days a week that you are able to commit to, be present in and not dread will be so much more sustainable in the long run.

The long run is where change happens.

Do less really well!
